While in California I had the good fortune of stopping by 23rd Street Jewelers in Santa Monica. Everything about the store was beautiful, from the outside, decor, and definitely the jewels. 23rd Street Jewelers is a customer service based retail jewelry store, specializing in custom made jewelry. The majority of their inventory is their own designs, but they also carry jewelry by Sylva & Cie. Sisters, Diane Allen and Mary Kelley co-own 23rd Street Jewelers, they opened their Santa Monica location in 1981 achieving instant success. In 2003 they opened their second location in Manhattan Beach, one block from the beach.
I was completely blown away by their selection. As a fan of older cuts I was thrilled to see the vast selection of rose cuts, French cuts, old european cuts, and old mine cuts. The experience and jewelry was incredible and there is no way you could walk out of that store with anything but a smile on your face. 23rd Street Jewelers' services include: repairs, appraisals, and custom design work. If you have an old ring that needs a redesign, they are happy to work with your own stones as well.
