Steve Quick Jewelers opened in 1986 with two showcases in a jewelers building in downtown Chicago. After two years at that location Steve moved his store to Lincoln Park, where he built a reputation as the go to custom jeweler. During that time he also traveled the United States hosting estate jewelry trunk shows for Macy’s.
In the early 1990’s Steve Quick Jewelers began focusing on smaller designer collections from up and coming artists. Some of the original lines they carried included: Lapponia, William Ritchie, George Sawyer, Anthony Gerard, and Simon G (Simon himself called on the store when they opened the account; Steve Quick Jewelers is also one of Simon G’s longest store relationships).
In the fall of 2009 Steve Quick Jewelers opened their second store in Lincoln Square and in the fall of 2012 they opened their third Chicago location in Wicker Park. Steve Quick Jewelers has continued offering a mix of designer collections, custom designs, and estate jewelry in their stores. Today they carry both bridal and fashion jewelry from Simon G, Todd Reed, and Sethi Couture. Other bridal designers include: Sholdt, Chris Ploof, Megan Thorne, Sylva and Cie, and Norman Silverman. Their fashion designers include: Omi Prive, Dove’s, Zeghani, Dilamani, Arya Esha, KC Designs, and Marla Aaron.
Melissa Quick (married to Steve Quick), President of Steve Quick Jewelers, has been a full time member of the team since 1999. Prior to Steve Quick Jewelers, Melissa worked for an international diamond importer/wholesaler. Melissa handles the day-to-day operations at Steve Quick Jewelers and is also the voice of the Steve Quick Jewelers Instagram Page (it is a must follow). I asked Melissa to give us a look at some of her favorite estate pieces and engagement rings styles (see below).
