I was first introduced to James Ness & Son on Pinterest and came across their Instagram page the other day and knew I had to showcase them on the blog. James Ness & Son is a 3rd generation family business located in Edinburgh, Scotland. The shop started out as Ballantynes in 1900 and became James Ness & Son in 1919. Today the shop is run by James & Alan Ness, two brothers and the grandchildren of the original owner. The brothers were immersed in the family business from a young age and with their staff have received many accolades from the NAG Institute of Registered Valuers and Fellow of Gemological Association of Great Britain.
James Ness & Son stock an extensive range of fine antique and vintage pieces. They have many pieces from the Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco and Retro Periods. Their collection also includes a selection of fine estate jewelry that they carefully examine and clean prior to showcasing in their store. With their extensive knowledge they can easily help their clients source any rare or unique piece they may be after.
I hope to visit James Ness & Son in person someday, but for now I will be drooling over their incredible collection online. Below is a small glimpse of what they have to offer, check out their website for the full collection.
